Through the Corridor

I see you, my beloved, as you walk the narrow corridor flanked by memories on each side; touching them, smelling them, feeling them with every breath you take. I see you, and I reach out my hand to you. I walk with you. I know your heart.

It has been a long season since you last walked these hallways. You have been free, moving about in open fields, touching the ground with bare feet and reaching into the blue skies above you — unfettered, without restraint. It’s not in your nature to be held between walls, like a captive at someone’s command. It’s not your nature to be held as such. Nor is it my nature.

Together let us continue through this corridor, step by step. I with you and you with me. Let it become a reason for rejoicing, for laughing, for singing, because you are not alone. When you are bound, I am bound. When you are loosed, I am loosed. Know this and let the mystery of it rise within you and spirit you past the heaviness, unto the truth of your being. You are complete and whole, and I walk with you, through this narrow corridor and beyond.
