A Special Treat, Despite the Heat
What a day it’s been! Certainly, sitting in the heat all day for Hot August Nights car show in Lewiston might not be everyone’s “cup of tea.” It wasn’t mine until I met Ray. His passion for cars really attracted me to him when we met seven years ago; it made me realize that passion is sexy… no matter what it’s for—dancing, reading, cars, anything—passion makes us feel alive. It makes me proud to share the car show experience with Ray.
It was especially fun because his little orange and white, unique, one-of-a-kind hotrod was featured on the PR materials for this year’s event, including the t-shirts. Many people were excited to see the car in person and up close. Ray was a bit of a celebrity 🙂
Something else I like about the experience is its sense of community. Where else can you hang out for hours and talk with so many people? You have an instant reason to talk with strangers; reasons to laugh—I mean, you have seen Ray’s hotrod, right? That creation came right out of his imagination. And you get to talk with people you see only occasionally, and some you’d like to get to know better or see more often. It’s community. I appreciate being drawn into that world. Thank you, Ray.
