In The War of Art, author Steven Pressfield cautions that every artist (and probably most people) will confront an enemy that must be faced. That enemy is Resistance. It’s a war inside your head that tries to stop you from pressing forward to take steps to overcome fear and doubt and self-sabotage. If you’re passive, you’ll let Resistance stop you from living your fullest life, your purpose.

This week I’ve battled Resistance. Yet I’ve continued to take steps forward, refusing to stop and drift back into passivity. I’ve committed to teach workshops on creating vision boards—the kind that will free incredibly talented and gifted individuals (you know, people like you) to dream and then go after their dreams. It’s something I’ve felt passionate about for several years, and these workshops are tangible offerings that can produce results. So it’s time and I’ll power through because I am BOLD. (That’s my power word for 2026).

So let me encourage you that if Resistance is stopping you, scaring you, distracting you from doing something you’re drawn to do, keep going. Don’t let it stop you because confidence builds when you overcome Resistance. Then it multiplies. Plus, I’m rooting for you.
