Let’s Talk Empowerment
I share a story about empowerment in Reflections on Adult Literacy, my new book. In conjunction with the book release, Gary Kosman, Founder and CEO of America Learns, invited me to write a guest post on their blog last week. (He knows what’s in the book because he graciously wrote the foreword.) What I posted is:
“I’ve come to realize that I can’t empower anyone. Power has to come from within a person. People need to have experiences that convince them they are capable, they have power. They need to know the feeling of success. I can’t give them that, but I can provide the encouragement and opportunities which allow power to surface within them. I can stand in awe and applaud them as they step into their authenticity sense of self.”

That leads me to my newest endeavor: Power Words. In a 1.5 hour workshop, I guide you in discovering a meaningful power word to represent your focus and intention. It’s a mini vision board on a 5” x 7” card. So let me ask, Are you ready to empower yourself? I’m conducting the online workshop on Nov. 20 at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time. You can sign up on my website homepage: www.cathayreta.com
I hope to see you. Meanwhile, if you want to chat about your power, let me know by responding to this post or emailing info@cathayreta.com
